Casey Price Obituary, KENNESAW, Ga. — Casey Price, 26, of Cartersville, Georgia, has lost his life following a vehicle crash near the Interstate 75 and Interstate 575 interchange in Cobb County early Saturday morning.
Based on to officials, the fatal collision occurred at approximately 3:20 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 75 at the I-575 northbound split. Police responded after receiving reports of a serious crash involving a passenger vehicle and a parked tractor-trailer.
Investigators said Price was driving a 2024 Mazda CX-30 when the vehicle left its lane for reasons that have not been determined. The Mazda subsequently struck a 2022 Freightliner tractor and flatbed trailer that was parked in the gore area between the two interstate roadways.
The impact caused fatal injuries to Price, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency crews responded to the crash, but Price could not be saved.
The driver of the Freightliner, identified as a 60-year-old man from Texas, was inside or near the parked tractor-trailer when the collision occurred. Authorities reported he was not hurt in the crash.
Investigators have not yet established why Price’s Mazda left its lane before striking the parked tractor-trailer. The circumstances leading up to the collision remain under inquiry as authorities continue examining the scene and gathering information.
The fatal crash prompted a significant emergency reaction along the interstate in the early morning hours. Authorities are expected to provide additional information if further details become available as the inquiry continues.
