Aja Katherine St. Peter Obituary, SOUTH BEND TOWNSHIP, Minn. — Aja Katherine St. Peter, 42, of Madison Lake, Minnesota, was killed Saturday afternoon after the Chevrolet C20 she was riding in crashed and rolled along U.S. Highway 169 in South Bend Township, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The crash was indicated at approximately 1:33 p.m. Saturday on Highway 169. St. Peter was the lone passenger in the Chevrolet C20 and was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the collision.
Per to the Minnesota State Patrol, the Chevrolet C20 was traveling northbound on Highway 169 when it lost a tire. The vehicle subsequently left its lane and rolled into the median.
Investigators said St. Peter was not wearing a seat belt when the crash happened. The circumstances surrounding the tire failure and the events that led to the vehicle leaving the roadway and rolling into the median remain under investigation.
The driver, Justin Steven St. Peter, 42, also of Madison Lake, was injured in the rollover crash. His injuries were not considered life-threatening, and he was transported to St. Marys Hospital for medical treatment. Officials reported that he also was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.
No other injuries were reported in connection with the crash. The Minnesota State Patrol continues to investigate the event, including the tire failure and other circumstances surrounding the rollover.
Agencies have not released additional information regarding what caused the tire to fail or whether other factors contributed to the fatal collision. The inquiry remains ongoing, and further details may be released as officials complete their review.
